A Reality Check.... Stepping Into the Buyers Shoes

I had a real reality check yesterday....

As some of you know my husband and I are looking for a new home... shopping the
Kansas City Real Estate market for something a little smaller and newer and in a certain part of Kansas City, MO.

Yesterday we started out on an adventure to begin looking.

Needless to say we didn't find the ONE that when we walked in it grabbed us and said "you can't leave..."

But I did have the opportunity to mix with a few fellow REALTORS® during our adventure yesterday... and I had a real reality check!

How we come off to prospective clients is amazing!  Yes, I introduced myself as a REALTOR®... but these folks continued to want to dazzle me with their BS.

I really thought hard about how I come off to prospective clients and I think that my way is a way I'm going to stick to..... work hard, be honest, have integrity, LISTEN and don't try to dazzle anyone with any kind of BS because some folks can see right through it.

As the sun set in Kansas City, yet another eye opening experience that will make me more aware and better at what I do as a REALTOR®

Have you thought about how you present yourself today?   And?......

People sure are interesting. In Money Town, USA where I live.... there is an abundance of BS, along with several other initials defining said person's qualifications. I think it's important to THINK before you SPEAK and hear YOURSELF as someone else may hear you. You never have a second chance to make that all-important first impression : )

There are a lot of people who complaint that Realtors are not respected/admired and loved!  However, I am sorry to say that I find there are some in our profession (and all professions have some) that should not even be in the business.  They simply want the quick deal -- and they try to razzle dazzle the prospect!  I think we should act as professionals and learn the skills necessary to represent our clients and work in their best interests - not our own!
